De'Niro Laster Update

Every school in America is looking for big, fast, athletic prospects, and Shaker Heights wide receiver De'Niro Laster is one of the top all-around athletes in Ohio for 2013. He holds several offers, and is hearing from top programs.

Shaker Heights athlete De'Niro Laster is a prospect of note in Ohio for the class of 2013, and his greatest asset is his versatility.

Laster, 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, played wide receiver, tight end and linebacker last season for Heights, and impressed at each spot. He could project to either side of the football at the next level.

He recently visited Ohio State and Toledo unofficially, and the Rockets are one of several MAC offers he currently holds.

"I did visit both Toledo and Ohio State, and I liked both places a lot," Laster stated. "I've been to Ohio State before and seen everything, but it was good to be able to talk to the coaches. Coach (Stan) Drayton pulled me off to the side and we had a nice talk. He said they want to develop relationships with recruits, to better judge their character."

"They said I'm a good all-around player, but they are still evaluating me," he added. "I felt comfortable down there, and it was great meeting Urban Meyer. He said I reminded him of Aaron Hernandez, which made me feel good. He said I have good size and speed, and I would have no problem playing tight end at the next level."

Laster currently holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Temple and Toledo, and is drawing interest from Michigan, Duke, Tennessee, Cincinnati, and others.
