The players arrived on campus around 10:00 am and were kept busy for the few hours they were there.
"We had a lot of meetings," said Mathis. "Our first meeting was academics, second meeting, we went into the film room and watched film. It was a lot of academics, and then we went into the weight room and they talked about weight training. Just things like if we went there, how things would be. Also their new weight room, stuff they have at school."
The day ended on a high note for Mathis, as the Trojans extended an offer. "I talked to them [the coaches], they offered me a scholarship," Mathis said.
Though he's only a junior, Mathis already boasts a large number of offers and can already name his favorites. "My top 5 are USC, Oklahoma, Nebraska, UCLA, and Washington." (He holds offers from each of these programs.)
With so many options, Mathis could end his recruitment early, but for now, he's taking things one day at a time. "I'm just thinking about it," he said. "I'm going to talk it through with my family and with my friends; I'm just going to take it slow and make my decision."
