Corey Smith Still On Radar

Former Akron Buchtel star Corey Smith is on target to realize his dream and play Division-I college football. Smith, who played at Grand Rapids Community College last season, will play for East Mississippi Community College this season. He will be eligible to enroll at the school of his choice in January of 2013.

The long and winding road of former Akron Buchtel star Corey Smith has taken him to East Mississippi Community College, the last stop before heading off to the Division-I school he chooses.

Smith, 6-foot, 180-pounds, played wide receiver last season for Grand Rapids Community College, before heading off to Mississippi. He will spend one semester at EMCC before he will be eligible for a Division-I scholarship. He is still adding offers.

"My three latest offers are Cincinnati, Syracuse and Nebraska," the former Tennessee commit stated. "I also have offers from Tennessee, Michigan State, Illinois, Washington and West Virginia. I will be taking my five visits in the fall, but I'm not sure where just yet."

"Syracuse is a school I've been talking to a lot, and I like the coaching staff," he added. "I'm very interested in Nebraska, and they were my latest offer. I like them a lot and they are coming to see me in the spring. Cincinnati would be close to home, and I like them too. I'm still good with Tennessee, and they've been good to me all the way."
