Cochran will check out Cal this week

Atwater (Calif.) Buhach Colony offensive lineman Aaron Cochran has four early scholarship offers and will visit one of his top schools this weekend.

Aaron Cochran is the younger brother of Matt Cochran, a talented center who signed with Cal a few weeks ago. At 6-7, 335 pounds, the younger Cochran towers over his big brother and could develop in to one of the state's top tackle prospects.

The athlete has early offers from California, Colorado, Washington and Washington State and will visit Berkeley this weekend.

"Cal has their Junior Day this week so me and some of my friends are going up for it," Cochran said. "I was hoping to go to USC's Junior Day last week but I couldn't get a ride so I'm going to go out there for a visit in the summer and I'll also visit Notre Dame in the summer. I want to visit a few Big 10 schools too but I don't have anything lined up yet.

"Nebraska sounds like they could be close to offering and that would be a big one. I've been talking with coach [John] Papuchis and he said he's going to have the offensive line coach review my film soon. I'm talking with Coach [Jeff] Stoutland at Alabama as well and he said he's going to review my film too. My family is originally from Alabama so that's a school I have a lot of interest in."

Cochran said he's in no hurry to make his decision and will likely wait until sometime in January.

"I would like to do it at one of the All-American games or even afterwards," Cochran said. "I'm going to take all my visits and make sure of my decision before I commit anywhere so I'm confident by January, I'll have a good idea of what I'm doing."
