Early Look: 2013 Cornerbacks

Vernon Hargreaves leads the way out of the South at cornerback for 2013 and you can get an early look at some of the best here.

Early Look: 2013 Cornerbacks
Mackensie Alexander – 5-11/185 – Immokalee (FL) Immokalee

Quick Hitter: Alexander is a long corner that plays bigger than he is because of his arm length. He really sits down well as he reads the receiver and he can quickly come out of his break to get to the football. He has very good ball skills and he is only going to get bigger and getter. He is a very quiet kid and once he comes out of that shell a little more, watch out. He is already committed to Tennessee.

Noel Ellis – 5-10/175 – New Orleans (LA) Edna Karr

Quick Hitter: Ellis is a cornerback that knows how to cover. He has very quick feet, he changes direction well, and he is not afraid to come up and press cover at the line of scrimmage. He is more quick than fast, but that OK. He still needs to add some weight and get stronger, but he is one of the best cover guys in the South. Auburn, Florida State, and Texas A&M have recently offered.

Vernon Hargreaves – 5-11/181 – Tampa (FL) Wharton

Quick Hitter: All of the big schools in Florida have offered and he can play for about anyone in the country. He is such a fundamentally strong corner that can play tight man or off the ball very well. He has shown great hips, great instincts, and elite recovery speed. He is one of those corners who has a shot to play as a true freshman no matter where he goes. He is that good. His father coaches at South Florida .

Will Likely – 5-8/175 – Belle Glades (FL) Glades Central

Quick Hitter: Likely is a gamer. He shows up when the lights are on him and he makes play after play. He does not have the ideal size, but he always shows up when the ball is thrown his way. Likely is extremely quick and he plays with aggression and confidence. He is not afraid to go for the big play. Florida, Miami, and others have offered Likely.

Shaq Wiggins– 5-10/165 – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek

Quick Hitter: Wiggins is not afraid to compete, he steps up against top competition, and he plays with a little attitude. He really challenges receivers, he gets his hands on a lot of balls, and he picked off 10 passes as a junior. He is thin, he needs to get bigger, but the Georgia commitment can flat out cover. Over 15 schools have offered Wiggins.
