Travon Blanchard, a class of 2013 standout at West Orange Stark High School, gave his verbal commitment to Art Briles and the Baylor Bears on Thursday.
The 6-foot-2-inch 180-pound Blanchard has been timed at a 4.43 forty, and is a hybrid linebacker/safety. In an interview with Laken Litman of Scout.com on Monday, Blanchard discussed his trip to Baylor for Junior Day.
"I was invited to Baylor's Junior Day and loved it," Blanchard said. "The coaches are interested in me, the campus was nice, Baylor had a very good season, their quarterback won the Heisman…I really like Baylor."
As far as where he will be lining up on the next level?
"Sometimes I line up with the linebackers, sometimes I'm on the line of scrimmage and sometimes I'm dropping back into coverage," he said.
