Juneau Lists Early Leaders

St. Thomas More WR Jake Juneau has four schools at the top of his early wish list.

Jake Juneau averaged approximately 45 yards per catch in limited action last year (missed an early portion of the season due to a freak injury), and while he probably won't duplicate that type of yardage on each reception this fall, he's sure to catch plenty of passes from QB Brandon Bergeron.

Juneau and Bergeron recently attended LSU's Junior Day.

"LSU has a new wide receiver coach (Adam Henry) and he doesn't necessarily care about your height," said Juneau (6-0, 180). "He doesn't care if you're 6-foot-4. He looks at your numbers (production).

"He also likes St. Thomas More players. He told me to e-mail my film. Brandon was getting a lot of attention from the coaches at LSU. Coach (John) Chavis is our area coach, and Coach (Steve) Kragthorpe talked with Brandon and me."

Juneau enjoyed the time spent in Baton Rouge.

"There were a lot of big-time players there," he said. "Noel Ellis and Standish Dobard from Karr were there. I went up against both of them (in the 4A quarterfinals). I loved playing against them; it was a great experience."

Juneau's early favorites include LSU, TCU, Baylor and UCLA.

St. Thomas More lost to Karr in the playoffs on a last-minute TD. The previous year, the Cougars reached the Class 5A semifinals before running into eventual state champion Acadiana.
