Jr. Days for Griffin

Plenty of interest is coming from all directions to 2013 offensive guard, Matt Griffin.

Matt Griffin, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound offensive guard out of Denton, Texas, has an official offer from SMU. He has a few upcoming Junior Days planned, and interest from other schools that has not turned to offers, yet.

Oklahoma State, Louisiana Tech, Oregon, Missouri, Kansas State, Minnesota, Stanford, SMU, and Arkansas State are all sending interest his way and SMU has officially offered him.

Griffin has been invited to two Junior Days so far and is planning on attending both. Oklahoma State will be first on February 18th. Also planned for the weekend is to go to a basketball game and get a feel for the atmosphere. He also will get to check out the campus. Tulsa is the next Junior Day on the list and it will take place April 7th.

Anyone that comes Griffin's way will get an opportunity to win him over, no school has any priority yet, its all about who wants him.

"I really am interested in anywhere that is interested in me," Griffin said. "I'm willing to give anyone a chance."

SMU has officially offered Griffin, but he has yet to go and see what all they have to offer. Griffin plans to talk to the coaching staff and hopefully get a visit worked out this spring.

Griffin is known to finish blocks and be very explosive with good footwork. He racked up a total of 12 pancakes during a game of his junior season and was also put on the First Team All-District. He also has a plan and vision for his senior year, and that is to improve for the next level.

"You can always improve on anything you do, and there is always room for work," he said. "I need to focus on my hand placement. That will be what I concentrate on most."
