Hicks Picks 'Horns

Among a variety of the nation's best, Arlington (TX) Martin running back Kyle Hicks decides the University of Texas is where he will continue his playing days. He discusses inside.

"I committed to Texas," reported Kyle Hicks Saturday evening.

With this, the 5'10, (now) 195-pounder joins 5-star quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, 4-star receiver Jake Oliver, and 4-star linemen Jake Raulerson and A'Shawn Robinson in the 2013 Class.

Unsure of which direction he was headed following his visit to UT last weekend, Hicks said Saturday, "I just knew it was time."

"I thought about it a lot," he added. "I was down to Texas A&M, Texas, TCU… TCU was a big school in the final mix… and Arkansas."

"I chose Texas because when I took my visit there, it felt like home. It just felt right when I was down there."

"It's a place I can go for four years and get a good education and play great football with great players."

Being "close enough to home" was just icing on the cake for him.

"Coach Brown told me I have the whole staff happy about it."

Hicks declared he will not be making any visits elsewhere.

"This is like a marriage," he said. "I'm solid to Texas."
