Fisher talks early commitment to VT

Clover Hill, VA., linebacker Holland Fisher talks about his early commitment to the Hokies.

Virginia Tech kicked off it's 2013 recruiting class with a big commitment from Clover Hill, Va., linebacker Holland Fisher (6'2", 205) following junior day on Saturday. Fisher held offers from West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and North Carolina State, but it was no secret that the Hokies were always his number one. He just needed his family's approval.

"I always knew that is where I wanted to be, but I brought my family with me this weekend to show them and say this is where I want to be for next several years," said Fisher, a teammate of 2012 Virginia Tech signee Joel Caleb. "Of course, they loved it and that was a bonus for me, so I said, I am going to commit."

Fisher expressed zero hesitation or doubts in making an early decision.

"I have been to so many places and I felt so comfortable at VT. It was a home away from home and the perfect place for me to be most successful. I already knew this was where I wanted to be, and I didn't want to risk losing this chance, so why wait if this is where I need to be, I said."

Fisher was just one of two Richmond natives to commit to Virginia Tech during junior day. His former teammate, CeQuan Jefferson, a defensive back at Henrico High, also committed Saturday.

"It is great to have two former teammates there with me. We talked about it and both said this is the place to be. They have one of best recruiting classes this year and to get to play with former teammates, is great! It's like a dream come true!"
