Blowing Up

Wide receiver Quantavious Leslie put together a very good year at Hinds Community College last season. The former West Virginia signee has worked hard on all facets of his game and his recent rush of offers is proof positive that he is a major prospect for the 2013 signing class. With offenses around the country looking for a deep threat, Leslie's offer list is expected to grow even more.

Quantavious Leslie profile

As of last week, Leslie held offers from Colorado State and Mississippi State, but a trio of SEC programs have followed suit.

"Arkansas kind of got all of this going," said Leslie. "Coach Peoples got in touch with me and he told me that he loved my highlight tape.

"He told me that they like how I have long arms and how I can make plays."

The offer from the Razorbacks certainly has Leslie's attention.

"Arkansas is sort of like a receivers' dream school," said Leslie. "They like to throw the ball a lot in their offense and they really get you ready for the next level."

Ole Miss' extended an offer to the talented Leslie shortly after Arkansas.

"My coach texted me and told me to call Coach Heard at Ole Miss that they wanted to offer me," said Leslie. "I called and talked with Coach Heard and they offered me.

"He said they need some receivers to come in and make plays and he thinks I would be a good fit for their offense."

Just yesterday, another SEC Western division program announced their intentions.

"I talked with Coach Wilson at LSU last night about ten o'clock," said Leslie. "He told me that they had already offered me, but I guess I didn't get the word.

"Coach Wilson told me that they want me and my family to come down there and visit with all of the coaches on the 17th.

"He said that they liked my highlight tape a lot and that they feel like I would like it there."

The fun for this week may continue as another SEC program watches Leslie's film today.

"I talked with Coach Robinson at South Carolina yesterday and he told me that he is hoping they offer me after Coach Spurrier watches my film," said Leslie.

Despite the recent spike in his recruitment, Leslie still plans to take his time and go through the process.

"All of this is fun," said Leslie. "I never expected all of this to happen this soon, but I am glad that it did.

"I am still not going to make a quick decision. I want to take my time and take my visits, so I can sure about everything."
