Foster Set For NU Visit

Junior running back Kendrick Foster is hoping to visit Northwestern for its Saturday morning practice. Foster has received interest from NU's Matt MacPherson and Dennis Springer. Go inside Foster's recruitment in this update.

Peoria Richwooods (IL) High School running back Kendrick Foster is set to visit Northwestern on Saturday, but likely won't be surprised by much. The junior has already visited campus twice.

"There's a lot of tradition there," Foster said of Northwestern. "Their facilities, they have a great staff to help you with your schoolwork. Northwestern is a top education school, it's a great place, and it's close to home."

The attractive tangibiles aren't enough for Foster, though. He hopes to find the right feel from a college.

"It all depends on if I'm comfortable there," said Foster. "I felt pretty comfortable when I was there with the coaches, they seem to care. That's a good thing, too."

Foster, a 5-foot-8, 185-pound running back, known for his 4.4 speed, holds an offer from Illinois State, and has received interest from NU, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and a few other schools.

Northwestern became interested in Foster when he attended a summer camp in 2011. Dennis Springer and Matt MacPherson have led his recruitment.

"My relationship (with the two coaches) is great," said Foster. "They're both enjoyable guys to be around. You can talk to them about anything, they're like that. They're the kind of coaches that care about you, what you're doing off the field, and how you can get better on the field."

Foster may be close to an offer from Northwestern, but his grades have prevented that from happening. NU coaches are waiting to see how his semester pans out. The running back is expecting this to be his best report card yet.
