2013 Intro: Mulberry (Fla) WR

Jarius Garner is a standout two-way player from Mulberry High and so lets take a closer look at him as a prospect.

Name: WR/DB Jarius Garner

School: Mulberry, Fla

Size: 6-1/170

2011 season stats: Garner played all over the football field as a junior last season. He finished the year with 200 yards passing, 150 rushing, and 300 receiving. On defense, he had 75 tackles and four interceptions.

Grades: 2.4 GPA/no test score

Recruiting: Garner lists Miami (childhood favorite), Rutgers, Missouri, and Georgia as his early list of favorites. He doesn't have any scholarship offers yet.

"I'll be looking for small class size, and a school I can spend for years and call home," Garner said when asked what he'll be looking for in a school down the road.

As a Prospect: Garner was the definition of an all-purpose player as a junior last season. He spent time at quarterback, running back, receiver, and defensive back. Because of his size (6-1/170), ball skills, and athleticism, he projects best as a wide receiver at the college level. He also runs track and plays basketball and should generate a lot of buzz among Division 1 programs on the football field this coming spring. He's a name to keep an eye on in the 2013 class.
