Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School cornerback/athlete Jadar Johnson heated up quickly as one of the state's top 2013 prospects and just as quickly as his recruitment heated up Johnson decided to shut it all down. He gave SCPrepNation.com the call Wednesday night to announce his decision.
"My mind is made up. I'm committed to Clemson."
After receiving offers from the Tigers, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and South Carolina State the versatile prospect from OW saw plenty during his visit to Clemson to feel at ease with his decision and end the process.
SCPrepNation.com has been in contact with various assistant coaches in the ACC and SEC this past week and many were extremely high on Johnson after viewing his film. Some of them mentioned offering him once they were able to see him in person. Johnson however feels firm in his decision he says.
Johnson had a message that he wanted to relay to the Clemson faithful as well.
"Yeah I want all Clemson fans to know that they're getting a player who's going to be committed to the success of the Tigers. I'm all in!"
The OW standout talked about how his commitment went down on Wednesday.
"I called coach Hobby first then he gave me coach Swinney's number and I talked to him and told him that I was committing to Clemson."
"They were real excited. Coach Swinney said they're going to throw a party tomorrow morning in the coaches office. (Laughs)"
Johnson becomes Clemson's fourth commitment in the 2013 recruiting class and the Tigers' second in-state player to join the program.
