Four-Star Gibson Adding Offers

Cleveland Heights wide receiver Shelton Gibson is not only one of the top prospects in Ohio for the class of 2013, but a four-star recruit. He has added more offers recently, and is a wanted man in recruiting circles.

Shelton Gibson is currently ranked as the number-seven overall prospect in Ohio for the 2013 class, and the Cleveland Heights speedster is also a four-star recruit.

Gibson, 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, had an excellent junior season for Heights last year, and also impressed in January at the Under Armour Junior Combine in Orlando.

"Things are going great for me and I'm running indoor track right now," Gibson stated. "I think I have around 12 offers right now. My latest offers are Illinois, Pittsburgh, Nevada and Vanderbilt. I'm getting a lot of interest, now that my film is out there. That should help me get even more offers."

Gibson also holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Ohio State, Duke, Mississippi State, and others. He has visited a few schools, and has more trips upcoming.

"I went to Ohio State a few weeks ago, and it was nice," he explained. "It was my first time to Ohio State, and I liked what I saw. The facilities were great and the coaches were very nice. We watched film on Percy Harvin, from when he was at Florida, and that was great seeing how he was used. Going across the middle is my specialty, just like he did. I'm going back there in the spring for sure."

"I've also been to Auburn and I love it there," he added. "I need to get back with those coaches, and set up another visit with Auburn. I was supposed to go to Illinois a few weeks ago, but I had a meet. I will reschedule that one. I want to visit Indiana, Nebraska and Michigan State this spring, and maybe a few others."

Although in no hurry to make his decision, Gibson is hoping to be a committed recruit before his senior season of football.

"I want to have this done before school starts next year," he admitted. "Once I see who has offered, and who won't be offering, things will be easier. I'm still looking for Alabama, USC, Oregon, and some schools like that. I will definitely be committed before my senior season, but it might not be until after I see how things go this summer for me."
