White Taking Big Ten Visits

Detroit Cass Tech (Mich.) sophomore OLB William White's recruitment is beginning to take off and he talked to Scout about his recent and upcoming visits.

Detroit Cass Tech's state title run in 2011 came with contributions from players in every class. The normally talent laden school is stocked up for the future, as the classes of 2014 and 2015 have players in them who are already being recruited by major schools.

One of them is linebacker William White, who has been a varsity starter for the Technicians since his freshman year. Now ready to enter to his junior year, the 6'1, 215-lb White is starting to see a rise in his recruitment.

"So far, I've been hearing from Michigan State, Iowa, and last weekend, I went on a visit to Illinois. It was real cool. The coaching staff is real cool. We talked about linebackers. I met a linebacker that's supposed to be a first round draft pick and they were telling me they're recruiting me."

White says this summer, he plans to head back to to Champaign for camp and wants to camp at LSU as well. He won't ignore the in-state schools though, as he has made a handful of visits to Michigan State already.

"I've been to State a couple times. I went to their football games last year and a couple weeks ago, I went to their basketball game against Ohio State. They told me to come down this summer and attend their camp."

This weekend, White will trip to Ann Arbor with several fellow Cass sophomore linebackers who are highly regarded as well.

"I'll be going up to Michigan this weekend. We're seeing a spring practice and the facilities as well. It will be me, Deon Drake and Gary Hosey."
