Thomas Has Two Offers

Kent Roosevelt returns its playmaking duo of TraVon Chapman and Trei Thomas for this upcoming season. Both hold offers currently, with wide receiver Thomas listing two. Who is in the mix for the speedy wide out?

Kent Roosevelt featured a dynamic offense last season, and the pitch and catch tandem of TraVon Chapman and Trei Thomas will be returning this season.

Thomas, 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, is a 2013 wide receiver prospect. As a junior, he had 46 receptions for 836 yards, with 12 touchdowns.

"My junior year was great, because I was able to show what I could do with regular playing time," Thomas stated. "I don't think people knew too much about me, but I was happy with my play. I can catch the ball and turn it upfield in a hurry. I can use my quickness to get away from defenders. I need to get stronger, and I'm working in the weight room."

Kent State and Akron have both offered this speedster, and he hopes more are headed his way.

"I like both schools and I'm thrilled to have both," he explained. "Akron was the first offer, and it came out of nowhere. They offered when I was in class, and it was very exciting. Kent State was just last week, and I spoke with Coach (Darrell) Hazell. I like Kent State too, and both offers are great."

"I'm also hearing from Wisconsin, West Virginia, Bowling Green and Ohio University," he continued. "Illinois invited me to a junior day, and I wasn't able to go there, but I'd love to check them out. I'm supposed to go to Wisconsin for their spring game too, and I'm looking forward to that."
