The first NLA camp of the 2012 season was held in Houston and Ricky Seals-Jones walked away with MVP honors, but the future Texas Longhorn was not the only national level player there. Take a look at some of the top uncommitted players that also stood out at the event.
LB Deon Hollins Jr. has offers coming in from all over. The latest are from UCLA and Michigan State. But schools like Washington, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Boise State and Arkansas have also extended offers.
LB Reggie Chevis blew up to a national level name after the camp. He is a MLB who moves like a a RB. Texas A&M and LSU are his most notable offers and might appear to have the early edge for his services.
Scout.com four-star CB Maurice Smith has excellent size and his lock down abilities landed him DB MVP honors. Those same skills have also landed him offers from schools like Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
At the time of the camp DL Christian Lacouture was committed to Texas A&M, but since that time he has opened up to not only consider his offer from the Aggies, but also offers from LSU, Alabama, Michigan and Missouri.
The second Houston area Next Level Athlete camp will be held this Sunday. The camp will feature a number of solid players from the area and the film of the prospects in attendance will be distributed to college programs across the country.
Prospects and coaches can check out the Next Level Athlete website for more information on how to attend a NLA event.
