"Things are really picking up," said the 6-foot-3, 265-pound New Orleans native. "Coach (Justin) Gaines at North Texas requested my transcript and ACT score. He says they should be getting an offer out to me soon. He said their offensive line coach loves my film. He said I should get an offer in the next couple of weeks or for sure in the spring.
"I talked to Coach (Reed) Stringer at UL, and he told me to call Coach Hud (head coach Mark Hudspeth). Coach Hud said he wanted me to know that they want me on their team to help lead them to another bowl win."
The Cajuns are the reigning New Orleans Bowl champions, having knocked off San Diego State in December.
"Coach Hud said they're thinking about me in Ragin' Cajun land," Hoefeld stated.
Minnseota is also in the hunt.
"I got a message from Coach (Jay) Sawvel on Facebook," explained Hoefeld. "He told me to call him ASAP. He said their offensive line coach, who is also the recruiting coordinator, fell in love with me after watching my film.
"Coach Sawvel said he wanted to have a 20-minute conversation with me to see what kind of person I am. He's sending it back to the o-line coach after that. He said I'm obviously an offer guy and asked which schools are recruiting me. He said Minnesota is going to go toe-to-toe with those schools. He said they're low on centers, and that I'll either get an offer next week or during spring practice when he comes down."
"Coach (Doug) Lichtenberger at Tulane wants me to get over there as soon as possible so I can meet the new coaching staff," said Hoefeld. "He said they're all waiting to meet me.
"ULM is coming on strong. I've been hearing from Coach (Bryan) Applewhite a lot on Facebook. Southern Miss wants me to come to their Junior Day on the 31st. They watched my film and said they're excited about seeing me there."
Hoefeld plans to be at LSU on Saturday to watch the Tigers practice.
