Two more offers for Shepherd

Lakewood (Calif.) wide out Xavier Shepherd picked up two more offers on Friday and now has three total offers, all from the Pac 12.

Oregon State was first to offer Xavier Shepherd and the Beavers now have company in that department.

"I got offered by UCLA and Colorado today," Shepherd said. "I'm very excited about both and have a lot of interest in each school. UCLA is the local school and I'm definitely a West Coast guy.

"I've been talking with Coach Yarner and Coach Broussard and I'm taking a visit there next Saturday. They're having another Junior Day and I'm looking forward to being there."

Shepherd has a strong connection with one of the coaches at Colorado giving the Buffs a real shot here.

"Anthony Tucker is an assistant there and I've known him since I was a freshman," Shepherd said. "He had a very big impact on me as a player and as a person. He got my priorities in order and is just a great man.

"He sat me down when I was a freshman and told me he saw a Div I player in me. It took a while but I started to see that person in me as well. Nebraska is also sending me letters and I just got a camp invite from Notre Dame. So things are good now and I'm enjoying the process."
