Godfrey Takes In Cajuns Scrimmage

John Curtis OL Brandon Godfrey (6-4,280) traveled up to Lafayette to watch Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns third scrimmage of spring football.

Brandon Godfrey traveled up to Lafayette to watch the Ragin' Cajuns second spring scrimmage Saturday. The big junior lineman came away impressed with what he had seen between the lines.

"I really surprised by how physical they play on both sides of the football," Godfrey stated. "The coaches are pretty intense and they go after each other hard on the field."

Brandon didn't really know much about the Ragin' Cajuns program, but with the staff actively recruiting him and several teammates, he is getting a first hand look at the program.

"Several years back, you didn't hear anything about the UL program," mentioned Brandon. After the New Orleans Bowl, you hear they are on alot of athletes and people are taking notice of what they are doing with that program."

Godfrey picked up his first offer earlier this month from Tulane and has several other stops scheduled this month.

"I'm planning on coming in next weekend for UL's Junior Day," Godfrey mentioned. "On the last weekend of the month, I'm going to attend Mississippi State's Junior Day on the 31st. I'm looking at attending football camps at both schools this summer.

While walking around during the scrimmage, Brandon recognized several athletes already on the UL squad and exchanged a few words with both.

"I recognized Greg Siener from Mandeville and Octravian Anderson from Evangel," Brandon said. "I attended football camps with both of those guys my sophomore year, so I knew them when I seen they were standing on the sideline.

Brandon Godfrey will be a hot prospect to following this summer.
