Gladney Talks Spartans Interest

Ohio wide receiver Kevin Gladney may not have participated in the Nike Football Sparq Combine but that didn't mean he wasn't in demand. spoke with Gladney about his Spartans offer and any possible visit plans.

Looking at Kevin Gladney it is easy to see why Michigan State offered the 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver from Akron (OH) Firestone High School.

With the success the Spartans have had with players like Mark Dell and B.J. Cunningham, Gladney fits the mold the Spartans love at wide receiver.

How does Galdney feel about the Spartans?

"Michigan State is a great school," said Gladney. "I want to go up and visit them with my family soon."

Have there been any plans made for a visit?

"Right now I hope to visit in April," Gladney explained. "My spring break is coming up and that is when I'm hoping to get a lot of my visits in.

"I've not seen much of them other than their bowl game so I really want to check them out."

Pat Narduzzi is heading up Gladney's recruitment for MSU and the talented wide receiver is hoping to learn more about the Spartans defensive coordinator.

"He said he liked me so I want to get to know him more to see how I fit at Michigan State," said Gladney.

What are the key things Gladney is looking for in the program he chooses?

"I've got to see is it a fit for me and do I feel comfortable," he said. "I'm also looking at the academics and if my family can get to my games. I'll have to look at the quarterback and see if they are more of a West Coast team or a pro-style as I would prefer to be in a pro-style offense."

Beside the Spartans who is Gladney looking at?

"Right now I'm looking at Nebraska, Michigan and my hometown team Akron," said Gladney with a smile. "Coming up will be Iowa and Purdue; they send me a lot of stuff in the mail and tell me they like me. But I guess they want me to physically call them to get the offer."
