Running back to visit Arizona

Arizona was the first to offer running back Zachary Green and it seems to be paying off. Read on to see when he will visit, what impresses him about Arizona, and more.

Arizona was the first school to offer Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure running back Zachary Green and it now appears to be paying off.

The 5-foot-9, 215-pound back is going through the process and has now scheduled his first school visit.

"Everything is going real good," Green said of his recruitment. "I am taking an unofficial to Arizona on April 7 to check it out and see what is going on there. Hawaii and UCLA recently contacted me and recruiting is going real good."

Green says that Arizona's offer was not something he expected, as he had not had a lot of contact with Arizona previously.

"It was kind of a surprise," he said. "I did not really talk to them much before they offered, but since they did I have talked to Coach Anae. My dad keeps in touch with the coaching staff a lot though."

When talking about what he is looking for in a school, Green stopped and turned the focus back to Arizona.

"I am looking for a good education, coaching," he said. "Arizona's coaching is probably out of the world with Rich Rodriguez and his coaching staff. The atmosphere is also something I will look at and I need to find some place where I am going to be comfortable living for the next four years of my life."

Green is getting himself familiar with the offense that Arizona will be running and believes that he would fit in well.

"Since it is a way difference offense than they ran last year, it is a running offense and they use the running back and quarterback more in the run game, I think I would fit in really well with their system," he said. "They are going to use smaller backs, but I just think I would fit in really good with that system."

Green is not completely certain when he would like to make a decision but says, as of now, that he is leaning towards taking his time.

"I think I want to go through the process and take my time and look at some schools," he said. "I will likely take my time with a decision."
