Gilmore has around 20 scholarship offers right now. He is talking to coaches on the phone, through email, and building relationships with numerous coaches, but he doesn't think he is close to making a decision.
"My decision will not come until I take my official visits. At least, that is how I feel right now. Schools like LSU, Clemson, Ole Miss, Florida, and others are coming at me hard and I stay in contact with many schools, but I still feel I need to get on campuses, spend more time at schools, and take my visits first."
In between unofficial visits this spring and summer, Gilmore is trying to take his game to the next level.
"I know I have a lot to work on and a lot of room to improve," said the 6-foot-4, 268 pound defensive lineman out of Hope Mills (NC) South View. "I really want to develop the core of my game, stay in the weight room, and just get better.
"I really need to get stronger, so I am going to hit the weight room hard and I want to work on my vision too. I just want to get better and that is what I am thinking about right now."
Gilmore is the currently the top prospect in the North Carolina on Scout and he will be at LSU on Saturday.
