Christy Collects SEC Offer

Dutchtown (Geismar, La.) wide receiver Shelby Christy added his second offer today from the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

A few days ago, Shelby Christy received his first scholarship offer when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns pulled the trigger. Christy added another one today when Mississippi State extended an offer.

"I've been looking for this one," said Christy of pulling in his first SEC offer. "Coach (Gregory) Knox let me know that the wide receivers coach from Mississippi State decided to offer. He said they like my size and my ability to make things happen after the catch.

"They said, 'Now you have an offer from Mississippi State.'"

Christy has a top three in mind.

"It's LSU, Alabama and Mississippi State," he said. "I like Mississippi State. I'm going over there on the 31st for their Junior Day."

Is there a chance Christy will commit that day?

"There's a good chance, but I'll have to see if I feel at home. I like that Mississippi State runs the spread. I could fit in well with their spread. They're also losing a lot of receivers, so I could play early.

"LSU and Alabama are telling me to keep doing what I'm doing. I'll have to come in at their camps and do the job to get an offer."

Christy said Louisiana Tech could be next to offer.
