Football is in defensive back Porter Ontko's blood.
"I grew up around football with my dad being a professional football player," Ontoko said. "Naturally, I was inclined to play it as well."
The Benet Academy prospect's father, Bob Ontko played middle linebacker for the Colts and Redskins after his college career at Penn State.
And his passion for football came from his father.
"My strength on the field would have to be my instincts and will to win," Ontko said. "Plus my favorite part of the game is the full speed collisions."
The Lisle, Ill., standout added, "I love football and would enjoy the opportunity to compete at the next level."
Ontko has already made some plans for the spring and summer.
Even though the class of 2014 safety prospect is early in the recruiting process, he has begun getting attention from several different schools.
"I have received several letters and emails," Ontko said. "I would like to hear from more Big 10, Big East, and ACC schools."
Especially one that he has been a fan of since childhood.
"I have grown up being a Penn State fan," Ontko said. "Because both my parents went to school there."
He continued, "My favorite memory is going to the Penn State-Iowa game and being on the sidelines."
Plus Ontko has already visited his parent's alma mater.
"I visited Penn State late last June," Ontko said. "And I have always thought Penn State has a great campus and tradition."
Ontko is still planning spring and summer visits, so stay on FOXSportsNext for the latest updates on him and the rest of the Midwest class of 2014.
