Local CB visits Duke

Dante Jones (5'11, 175, CB) visited Duke over the weekend and may be in line for an offer.

"I visited Duke this past weekend," said Raleigh (N.C.) Southeast standout Dante Jones. "I had a chance to further talk to the coaches and to see them scrimmaging."

Jones, a 5-foot-11 speedster corner/wide receiver, has interest from Duke, Clemson, East Carolina, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina, NC State, and Vanderbilt. He doesn't yet claim any offers.

Of course, it sounds like the Blue Devils may be close to making an advance in that direction.

"I've been talking to them a lot about it and they've told me they want to see me up close in a camp setting. They said they really want to see me at camp. That'll be the determining factor for them."

Jones says he's been speaking primarily with Derek Jones and Ron Middleton about his recruiting. Both spoke with him at length over the weekend, and Jones brought him into the defensive backs' film session.

"That was really good because it lets you see how detailed they are at the next level. Everything they did was very long and extremely detailed. They break down everything they see and do."

Jones added that he's planning on attending a one day camp in Durham this summer.
