SoCal DB will visit Colorado

One of the better looking athletes in the Golden State is Valencia (Calif.) two-way standout Tedric Thompson. Thompson picked up his second offer a few weeks ago and is beginning to hear from schools outside of the region.

Tedric Thompson is a standout safety prospect but can also play receiver. In fact, the athlete said he's being recruited pretty equally at both spots right now.

"I like both positions and don't really have a big preference," Thompson said. "I like safety a little better because I like to run around and hit people but honestly, I'll play whatever gets me on the field the fastest."

Minnesota was first to offer Thompson back in January and his second offer came out of the Pac 12.

"Colorado offered about two weeks ago," Thompson said. "I've also been contacted recently by Georgia, Oklahoma State and Penn State. USC, UCLA and Washington State were already recruiting me and they continue to do so.

I'm going to visit Colorado for their spring game and also plan to attend the NIKE Camp in two weeks. Other than that, I don't really have any other plans. I might do the USC one day camp if I can but it's not set in stone right now."

As for favorites, Thompson said he's open but is obviously excited by the two schools who have offered him.

"I like Minnesota and Colorado a lot," Thompson said. "They have offered so that means a lot to me. Minnesota was my first offer so that is really special and you always remember that first offer. I'm not planning to commit anywhere early though, I want to take my time.

"I'm planning to major in Law so I'm looking for a school with a strong program there. I kind of want to stay close to home too. I don't mind leaving but not sure I want to go too far. I would also like to try and play as a freshman so that's something else I'm looking in to."
