Charlie Kelly put on a quite a performance for the Big Bend Elite. At just 5-foot-7 and 175 pounds, he lacks ideal size for a major college prospect but he's only a rising junior. And he's tremendous in the 7on7 setting, with the ability to make a lot of people miss in the open field. He made a lot of plays on day one. A slot receiver/kick return specilist for Rickards High last season, Kelly says Florida, Clemson, and Miami are three schools he likes early on. He's a player to watch in the 2014 class.
Deionte Gaines plays mostly in the defensive secondary at Dr. Phillips High in Orlando but he was a standout at running back today. At 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, he has good speed, excellent hands, and the ability to make a lot of people miss in the open field. He's listed on the roster for Central Florida's Top Recruits team as a DB but he was making lots of plays at running back today. He's clearly a player to keep an eye on in the 2013 class.
Mike Heuerman is widely considered the state's top tight end prospect and he looked like the best one at the event today. At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, he's dealing with a minor hamstring injury that slowed him a little bit but he was still a difference maker. He caught some touchdowns and lots of first down passes for Team 239 and was a big chunk of their offense. He's a talented pass-catching weapon who has offers from each of his top four -- Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami, and LSU. He's a legitimate four-star candidate and looked every bit like it on Saturday.
