"I've been working hard, keeping my grades up," ONeal said. "I just qualified for an NCAA scholarship. I'm just trying to get my film out to colleges."
At 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, ONeal has ideal size and talked about the recruiting process.
"I've talked to Cincinnati, Washington, and Arizona," he said. "UCF said they'd offer me when I came to the school. I was supposed to go to Junior Day this past weekend but I went to a 7on7 tournament. FIU invited me to Junior Day. Hopefully I can get more offers. I need to get the ball more to get more exposure. I can make more plays. I'm gonna get more exposure at these camps and combines."
On school has already offered and another one seems real close, says the standout receiver.
"FIU and UCF basically said they were gonna offer when they see me face to face," he said. "FAU has been calling. Iowa State wants me to take a visit there. I'm just keeping my options open, trying to do everything I can to get my name out there to these colleges."
ONeal talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.
"Great academics, what I wanna major in, a spread offense, and someplace that makes me feel at home. And good coaches," he said.
As a Prospect: ONeal is a big target at 6-foot-3 and he runs pretty well. He comes from a well-coached program and could develop into a solid possession receiver at the college level. Several schools are showing early interest in him and he should start collecting some Division 1 offers sometime this spring when college coaches make their rounds.
