Quick Hitter: Harris Sets Announcement Date

Despite new schools jumping into the mix for Marietta (GA) WR Tyree Harris, the well-rounded athlete has set a date to announce his verbal commitment.

Tyree Harris has come a long way over the last year in the weight room, on the field, and in the recruiting process.

After a stellar junior year in which he notched 779 yards and seven touchdowns on 45 receptions, the Marietta (GA) wide receiver is up to four offers - from Syracuse, Boston College, Missouri and Mississippi State - and he holds interest from a half-dozen additional schools.

Even with the sudden rush for his services, Harris has decided to set a date to announce the school he intends to play for in college.

"I'm verbally committing June 22," said Harris. "I been thinking a lot, and I'm committing in California during our Georgia 7-on-7 game."

The 6-foot-2, 184-pound deep threat has strong additional interest from SEC Schools like Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, as well as smaller schools like UCF and Troy.
