"I was offered by Illinois Wednesday evening," DiLauro stated. "I spoke to the coaches on the phone, and they told me they were offering me a scholarship. I was shocked to get the offer, and they told me they are only going to take three or four offensive linemen."
"Since I play tight end, I was surprised to learn they want me to play offensive tackle, but that's great with me," he added. "I don't know a lot about Illinois, but some of the coaches were recruiting me when they were at Toledo. I'm going to go up there for the spring game, and get to know the offensive line coach, and go from there."
There are other schools starting to show interest in DiLauro (6-foot-5, 245-pounds), now that his film is making the rounds.
"I'm hearing from Indiana, Louisville, Toledo, and a few others," he explained. "Michigan contacted my coach, and said they want to see me in camp. I'm not real sure about what college camps I might go to at this time, but I will be out visiting schools."
