Midlands Spring Hot Spots: Pt. 2

FOX Sports Next is in the streets bringing you all of the coverage. Today we look at some of the Midlands high schools programs that will likely get a good deal of traffic this off season. Here is Part 2 of the series…

Houston (TX) Cy Falls
Headliner: WR Jacorey Warrick

Count Warrick out the group since Texas got word from him this off season, but keep an eye on running back Bryce Peters, who has an impressive junior film. Also, wide receiver Temi Alaka could have a breakout year as well. On defense, lineman Jacobi Hunter has already been pegged as a Division I tackle.

Desoto (TX)
Headliner: RB Dontre Wilson

Coach Claude Mathis returns after considering a move to the college rank. And he knows that the team has a solid roster. Wilson is being courted by (what seems like) every school in the country. Receiver Rickey Daniels is a solid prospect along with lineman Sergio Phillips

Rosenberg (TX) B.F. Terry
Headliner: WR Derrick Griffin

Griffin is off the board after an early commitment to Texas A&M, along with Victor Davis. But Terry has more with quarterback Antoine Arbuleda, running back Eugene Wright and tight end Billy White. On defense, Taruis Bishop is at the linebacker position.

Houston (TX) C.E. King
Headliner: CB Carlos Smith

Smith is an all-around athlete, but is projected to play defensive back on the next level. Also, defensive end Everett Anderson is a player who will be highly sought after this spring as well.

Ahmard Vital is responsible for Midlands Recruiting, mainly covering prospects in the state of Texas. He joined Scout.com in 2005 and is the author of the newly released book, Awaken the Baller Within.
