Herrera Planning on Taking Visits

Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra linebacker Christian Herrera is continuing to receive interest from programs, and is hoping to take a visit the Bay Area to check out two campuses.

"I think I'll be going up to California and to Stanford," he said.

Herrera, who currently maintains a 3.5 GPA, has two former teammates who are now Golden Bears.

"A few guys from Serra, Raymond Ford and Jason Gibson, are up there and I love those guys. I talked to Jason last week and he told me to come up and visit. The facilities I've seen and the academics are top 25. They also have great coaches. I went up there last June and it was really nice," he said.

The 6'2", 205 lb. prospect is also a fan of the Cardinal program.

"I'm going to reach out to coach Lance Anderson and see if I can get up there and meet with him. They have great academics and a beautiful campus and all the coaches were just wonderful when I was up there last time," he said.

Herrera has been keeping busy during the off-season, playing with his 7on7 team, B2G Five Stars, at the New Level Athletics 7on7 Tournament, held in Las Vegas last month, and attending both last weekend's Junior Rank Camp and Southern California Nike Football Training Camp.

He's receiving letters and interest from a handful of schools, namely Missouri, and is also planning on taking an unofficial visit to UCLA's campus next Thursday.
