Green is a Wildcat

Arizona has picked up its second commit for 2013. Read on to see running back Zachary Green's thoughts on the decision, Arizona, and more.

Arizona was the first and only school to offer Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure running back Zachary Green.

At the end of the 5-foot-9, 215-pound back's unofficial visit, the recent Nike MVP decided that he should give some attention back to the Wildcats.

"I committed to Arizona and talked to Rodriguez this morning," Green said. "I wanted to get it over with early to focus on my senior year and team and only Arizona showed me love, so I showed them love back."

Green met numerous people while on his unofficial visit and says that each person he sat down with made him feel comfortable.

"I just felt a lot of love and talked to the Athletic Director and talked with Rodriguez about how I would fit," Green said. "I had a great feeling I would fit in there and the recruiting coordinator Matt Dudek made me feel comfortable and he made jokes. I just felt like it was the right place."

In addition, Green was able to watch practice on Friday night and came away impressed with what he saw.

"The offense was fast paced and I feel like I fit in with the offense right now," he said. "Rodriguez and Calvin Magee were saying that their offense and the running backs have to block, catch passes, and be tough and it is a major position on the offense.

"When they showed me tape of Michigan and the position I would be playing I felt real good about what I would be doing at Arizona."

The Wildcats have led for Green for a while, but he says that he did not intend to commit while on his trip.

"I did not think I was going to commit on the visit, but I just left with a good impression and decided I wanted to be at Arizona," he said.
