Lane Makes His Mark

Akron Firestone (Ohio) linebacker Jerome Lane is a name that should rise over the summer, and he shwoed why on Saturday at the Adidas Invitational.

One sleeper who began to wake everyone up to his talents at the Adidas Invitational was Akron Firestone's Jerome Lane, who ran an impressive 4.47 forty yard dash at over 6'3 and 217-lbs.

"I think it was real high competition and I think I did real well," Lane said.

No offers yet, but with his size and speed, it may not take long and there are several schools who have been in touch.

"[I've heard from] Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota and Cincinnati. I'll probably camp with some of those schools."

Lane says he has been to see a pair of those schools.

"I've visited Cincinnati and West Virginia. Those visits went real well. Cincinnati, I was just going to check around the facility and they told me to come back for camp. West Virginia said the same thing."

Lane played safety, running back and linebacker last season, but is being recruited as an outside linebacker and says "it absolutely won't matter," which position he plays in college.

This summer, Lane is not sure which camps he will attend specifically, but there is no doubt that wherever he goes, he will impress with his raw ability.

"I'm going on the bus tour with Raw Talent this summer."
