Scouting Ohio State's Newest Commit
Marcus Baugh (6'4/230) played tight end and linebacker for his JW North squad. He is a good enough athlete that he splits out at receiver regularly. Baugh recently committed to Ohio State, and the Buckeyes landed one of the top tight end prospects in the country.
Baugh has an excellent frame and is still filling out. He has a good change of direction in the open field and is a long strider who pulls away from defenders, including defensive backs once he gets unwound. As he gets stronger, he will come off of the line more quickly.
Baugh has been a regular on the 7v7 circuit and shows good flexibility and body control in making adjustments to the ball, and he has very good hands.
What doesn't show up in a 7v7 environment is his toughness. He is an outstanding blocker, and when he's in the open field, he doesn't shy away from contact and relishes the opportunity to attack a defender that has an angle on him.
