He's been compared to Tracey Lampley of Southern Miss, and with Scout Austin also a wide-out for Biloxi, the pair poses a nightmare for defenses. McCormick is a bit undersized, but makes up for it with quickness and work ethic.
"This spring I have been working hard on my route running," he said. "I want to be crisp with my cuts and getting better at getting separation from the defense."
McCormick is 5'9 and 170 pounds, but he is working hard in the weight room to add a little more weight.
Who is the receiver hearing from lately?
"The main school I am hearing from is Ole Miss," he said. "I heard a lot from Southern Miss earlier, but I expect to hear from them a lot more over the next few weeks."
These appear to be the two teams in the running for him right now. "I plan on going to camps at Ole Miss and Southern Miss this summer," he added.
He will take his time and see what offers will come his way, but we feel once schools see him he will be a guy that really starts to take off.
He wants a school where he can find the right fit.
"I am looking for a school where I can get a good education and be a part of a offense that throws the ball around the field a lot," he said. "I am a guy that can make some things happen so I just want that chance."
