Hoefeld Adds Another Offer

Brother Martin (New Orleans, La.) offensive lineman Ryan Hoefeld has seen his recruitment steadily pick up steam over the past few weeks, and he received a new offer late this week.

North Texas, ULM and Louisiana Tech have all offered Ryan Hoefeld, and Florida International is the most recent program to join the race to land the junior from Class 5A Catholic League school Brother Martin.

"I got a message on Facebook during school this week from Dennis Smith, the tight ends coach at Florida International," said Hoefeld (6-3, 265).

"He wanted my mailing address so they could send me some stuff. He told me to call him later because they wanted to offer. I haven't gotten them on the phone yet, but they said they were offering (in a follow-up message)."

The FIU staff had an interesting description of Hoefoeld.

"They said I had the right DNA to play offensive line for them," he said. "They said I have a nasty desire to play o-line, and they want me to be a Panther.

"It feels really good to get these offers. It seems like something new comes through every week."

Hoefeld, who plays offensive tackle for the Crusaders, expects to switch to center in college.

He also holds an offer from FCS program Furman.
