On Sunday he had the chance to stop in and see the Auburn campus and check out the facilities the Tigers have to use. After talking with Coach Mike Pelton and the rest of the staff, Richardson said he likes what he sees from the Tigers.
"It was good," Richardson said. "I enjoyed myself. I met a couple of coaches and learned a lot about the school. I had a good time. I liked it there.
"I like the way they are a family there," he added. "I like that. I just got that feeling from the way the coaches talked to me. I got the feeling that they feel like it's a family. That's what I need because I'm going away from my family. I want to be in another family."
Spending time getting to know Pelton, Richardson said he enjoyed getting to meet the former Auburn standout and now current defensive line coach.
"He's a good coach," Richardson said. "He kept me laughing and smiling a lot. I like him a lot. I could see myself playing for him."
With offers from all over including Auburn, Alabama, Louisville, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Penn State, Richardson said at the moment he's looking strongly at four schools, but isn't ready to make a decision anytime soon.
"Right now it's Alabama, Auburn, Duke and FSU," Richardson said. "That's my top four right now. I don't know right now. I'm going to wait until I get home to talk to my people. I have to sit down and think about it and weigh the pros and cons."
Seeing Alabama on Saturday before his trip to Auburn, Richardson said he enjoyed that visit as well. The weekend has served to make what was already a tough decision even tougher he noted.
"It was good there too," Richardson said. " enjoyed myself. It's going to be hard to make a decision after my senior season is over.
I'm just looking for a school that feels like home," he added. "A place that can better me and better my future."
