Big Lineman Takes In Auburn Spring Game

2013 prospect Dominique Threatt discusses his trip to Auburn and what he likes about the Tigers.

East Point, Ga.—A massive lineman from Tri-Cities High that is garnering interest from around the Southeastern Conference, Dominique Threatt was on hand for Auburn's A-Day Game on Saturday to see the Tigers in action. Being recruited as an interior offensive lineman by the Tigers, the 6-2, 293 Threatt said he enjoyed the experience.

"It was pretty good," Threatt said. "The sun was out. It was a pretty good day, pretty good day for football.

"I think they played their hearts out," he added. "It's spring and they try not to hurt nobody but it's football. They were having fun, enjoying themselves. They made some mistakes but I know they'll come back and work on them. I like that nobody gave up."

Because he's being looked at as an offensive lineman by Auburn, that meant time spent with Coach Jeff Grimes on Saturday. In addition, Threatt said he also got to speak with Head Coach Gene Chizik. After talking with both Threatt said there are several things he liked about what he heard.

"I talked to the o-line coach (Grimes) and the head coach," Threatt said. "We talked about their workout schedule is and how their educational system is. I like how they discipline people. They talked about me coming up in the summer for a visit and getting a look at the whole campus."

I've got a lot of schools that are showing interest in me," Threatt said. "I've only got one offer and that's from Georgia. I'm really waiting to hear from Auburn. They're one of my top three schools I want to go to."

In addition to Auburn and Georgia, Threatt said he also likes Alabama as well. Saying that he wants to hear more from the Tigers in the coming weeks and months, Threatt said the Auburn coaches told him he'll have his chance to do just that and soon.

"They want me to come back during the summer," Threatt said. "They're going to come to my school in May to see my spring game."
