Mitch Trubisky visits Alabama

Mitch Trubisky, four-star quarterback from Mentor, Ohio, traveled to Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama's annual A-Day game. Trubisky, who has an offer from the Tide, talked about his first-ever visit to the Capstone.

"The visit to Alabama was good," said Mitch Trubisky. "We got there early in the morning. We talked to coach Saban. They had a great day planned out for us. We saw the dorms, academic center and facilities. We then went to the spring game, and after that they had a barbeque for us.

"That was my first visit to Alabama. I liked it. I liked the campus lay out. It's a good size campus. It looks really nice. They have top-of-the-line facilities. Everything they have is awesome. It just reflects on what kind of program they have."

Trubisky offered his impressions of the spring game.

"The spring game was good," he said. "We got to sit down and enjoy the spring game. The fans they have are really impressive. They are passionate about football.

"It was good to see the players for next year. They play really physical down there. I know they were saving some stuff on offense. They are recruiting good quarterbacks. I know they have good plans for the future."

Trubisky also talked about time spent with the Alabama coaching staff.

"I spent time with coach Nussmeier before and after the game," he said. "We had a good talk. He was excited I could make it down. He said Alabama would be a good fit for me. He is coming up to watch me throw. He is impressed with what I can do on film.

"We sat down with coach Saban in the morning. He talked to my family and I about Alabama and what they have to offer. He talked about how they try to develop players into great young men. I love the coaching staff. They are real laid back and know a lot about football."

Trubisky talked about his interest in Alabama following his first visit to Tuscaloosa.

"I like the coaching staff," he said. "I felt like I got along with them real well. I think I can fit in well with the offense. I like the area. I like their tradition and how the fans love football so much. It's a cool environment."

Trubisky offered his top three in no specific order as Alabama, Michigan State and Ohio State.
