Coaches Coming to See Collins

Fox Sports Next has the update on Livingston athlete Chevoski Collins from Texas. Collins has some offers now, but it looks like this could be one busy spring for him. We spoke to Collins to see what's the latest in his recruitment…

It looks like there will be plenty of activity going on in the near future for Livingston (TX) athlete Chevoski Collins. Already holding a number of offers, mainly programs in the Big 12 Conference, Collins is looking for much more activity to take place this spring.

At least that is what has been told to him.

"Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas and New Mexico State coaches said that they are coming down this spring to see me," Collins said. "I think that recruiting is exciting right now."

That is probably because the 6-foot, 190-pound Collins already holds offers from schools like Baylor, Utah, Texas Tech and TCU. At the moment, Collins is open right now (though Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech and TCU are the schools he has a liking for) as he looks at what activity will likely go down this spring.

Last season at Livingston, Collins was utilized in many different ways. At quarterback, he had 535 passing yards and 880 yards rushing, for a total of 25 touchdowns. Defensively, when used, he recorded 25 tackles and three interceptions.

According to Collins, most of the programs recruiting him want to use him as a wide receiver or cornerback. Collins does have a preference.

"I'd like to play wide receiver, but I don't mind playing defense," Collins said.
