Eagles trio lands new offers

After winning a state title a year ago, Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita could actually be better this season. Scholarship offers have been rolling in for the Eagles and Wednesday was another nice day for the program.

Standout quarterback Johnny Stanton and defensive back Connor O'Brien both picked up offers from San Diego State and offensive lineman Dane Crane landed an offer from Florida State and Arizona.

"I'm excited," Stanton said. "They offered Dane too but I didn't know about Connor. We're excited for the season to get started, we just got fitted for our shoulder pads yesterday and it felt so right.

"USC came by our practice Monday and I've gotten calls from Air Force and San Diego State so far this week. "I'm still planning to visit Washington as well on April 28 for Junior Day."

O'Brien has seen his stock shoot through the roof. He took several unofficial visits last week over Spring Break and landed offers from Cal and Oregon. He also visited Oregon State and Colorado and already had offers from both programs.

"San Diego State is definitely an option, I'm going to check them out," O'Brien said. "Things have really picked up and I'm pumped up about it. It's pretty awesome how well things are going for our team, I'm excited about it."

Crane was already offered by the Aztecs along with Washington and Colorado before adding the Noles and Cats to the list.

"Florida State is a huge offer, that's a national program for sure," Crane said. "I talked to them a month ago and they said they would offer but I didn't know it was going to happen. Then they called and said they were offering so I was very excited.

"Arizona was big as well. I have family in Arizona so I'm definitely going to try and get out there and visit, hopefully soon. I'm also going out to Washington on April 28 and I'm looking forward to that as well."
