Bearcats Offer Stepec

Mentor Lake Catholic defensive end John Stepec is one of the more underrated players in Ohio for the 2013 class. He now holds seven offers, including Cincinnati, which is his latest.

Mentor Lake Catholic is one Ohio's top programs, regularly producing Division-I players, and this year will be no exception.

Defensive end John Stepec is drawing recruiting attention, and the 6-foot-3, 247-pound, athlete now holds seven offers.

"I now have seven offers, and Cincinnati is the latest," Stepec stated. "I visited Cincinnati a week ago and had a great time there. They were in the school this week and let me know they were offering."

"The Cincinnati offer is great and I love it," he added. "The campus was awesome, their coaching staff was great, and I'm excited about Cincinnati. Their facilities are great and I liked everything. I'm going to have a tough decision ahead of me."

Stepec has several other top programs showing interest, and he has scheduled some upcoming visits.

"I'm going to Akron in the next few weeks, and I'm definitely going to Wisconsin on the 28th for their spring game," he explained. "Iowa has been in contact, and they are coming to my school in May to see me. West Virginia is another school that has been in contact."

"Wisconsin would be a great offer, and I'm definitely very interested," he continued. "Iowa is another school I think a lot of, because their former quarterback Ricky Stanzi is from my school, and he absolutely loved it there. West Virginia is a place I need to learn more about, and I'm looking forward to seeing them. I'd love to make my decision before my senior season, but I don't want to rush things."
