Mayfield junior Dondre Jackson is beginning to surface as one of the top recruited linebackers in Western Kentucky. The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder recently took a visit to a Sun Belt school and has maintained contact with a MAC program.

In eight games this season Dondre Jackson accounted for 60 tackles from his linebacker spot and was a part of a 14-1 Mayfield team that reached the state finals. Now he's talking with a couple of colleges at this point.

"Ball State sends me mail just about every week," said Jackson. "They really are considering me as a recruit."

Jackson also took a trip to Arkansas State this weekend with a teammate.

"I liked Arkansas State. It's my type of school. I like how their defense is easy to understand. I also like the talent that Gus Malzahn is bringing in," he continued.

And what kind of talent would Dondre Jackson bring to the table if he were to receive and offer and become a Red Wolf?

"Dondre is the other linebacker on my team that's getting a lot interest," said teammate and fellow linebacker Jonathan Jackson. "We're almost identical size and he's a thumper as well," he continued.
