"It was a great weekend. I got to talk to the coaches more, watch the spring game, and go around campus. It was really cool," he said.
Woodard really enjoyed the opportunity to tour the campus and watch the players and coaches in action at the Spring Game.
"Tempe is really hot! But I can deal with the heat. The campus is beautiful. Watching the game, I liked their defense, and I really, really like the way they coach. If a player were to make a mistake, they wouldn't take him out of the game or yell at him or anything. They just help correct them," he said.
The feelings were reciprocated, as Woodard was able to talk with the coaching staff about how he could perhaps fit in with the Sun Devils.
"The coaches didn't exactly say how much they could use me, but they were talking about potentially offering me, so that was pretty cool," said Woodard. "I talked to the defensive backs coach, Chris Ball, and he said he liked me, that I was a good football player and that I had a lot of confidence."
Woodard's time with Ball ended on a positive note.
"He wants to see some more of my film, so he can talk to the other coaches about maybe getting an early offer. We left it pretty well," he said.
With the weekend behind him, Woodard remains excited about the Sun Devils and is staying optimistic in hopes for an early offer, as he could see himself one day joining the team.
"It's a team I can see myself fitting into. I'm good at adjusting and think I could do it at any school, but I really, really like ASU, and I can definitely see myself going there," he said.
