One of the top prospects in the state of Tennessee resides in Memphis.
It appears that four star defensive end Frank Herron of Memphis Central High School, who recently picked up an offer from LSU, is thinking a lot about Tigers but not the ones from Baton Rouge.
Herron confirmed with TigerAuthority.com that he is impressed with his home town Tigers in Memphis and will give new Memphis Coach Justin Fuente a fair chance to earn his services.
"I was blessed to get the Memphis offer," Herron said. "It's my hometown. Coach Fuente is changing the program around, I really like him so far."
Herron has made to a few practices at the University of Memphis and has gotten a chance to visit with Fuente.
"He told me how I could help change and create new trends at the University of Memphis," Herron said. "He said I could be the reason that my hometown school returns to glory."
How interested is Herron in Memphis?
"I'm considering them a lot," Herron said. "I like the way he runs his practices, I like how he is a players coach. You can talk to him anytime about anything."
Herron, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defender, is a four star prospect by Scout.com and is ranked the No. 21 defensive end in the nation. He finished with 54 tackles, 7 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries including one touchdown.
