Orlando Nike Camp: Top LB's

The Nike Training Camp stopped in Orlando on Sunday and Scout was there for all the action. Lets take a look at the top linebackers at the event.

MVP: Quinton Powell. At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Powell was clearly the top linebacker at this event from start to finish. He was the leader in the drills. He performed very well during the 1on1 drills, and just had a good overall presence all morning. Following the event, the Daytona Beach Mainland standout was invited to The Opening over the summer.

Top 2013 Prospect: Powell. The standout linebacker, who also plays a lot of defensive end in high school, brings a tremendous amount of athleticism to the table. He's built the right way and can do a lot of different things on the defensive side of the ball. He had several offers early on but made a commitment to Florida recently and is rock solid to the Gators.

Sleeper: Tevin Floyd. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Floyd quietly put together a very productive junior season at FSU High in Tallahassee. He was active, both as a linebacker and as an edge pass rusher. He's a good student and performed well at this event. The Citadel has just offered him and he should expect to see some Division 1 offers in the coming weeks and months.

Top Notable: Trey Daniels. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Daniels is coming off an excellent junior season, when he finished with nearly 100 tackles. He's a very good middle linebacker there and looked good during drills and 1on1's at this event. He was probably the best linebacker prospect there, behind Powell. He's still waiting on offers but it's likely only a matter of time.
