Price lands first BCS offer

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) defensive back David Price has been sitting on a lone offer from SMU for almost a year now but finally picked up his first BCS offer in the last week.

David Price is one of several talented safeties out West. He'll be a three year starter for the Jackrabbits but his recruitment has surprisingly been slow with just the one lone offer until recently.

"I got an offer from Colorado last week," Price said. "It's definitely a relief and I'm excited about this one. My dad and I were just talking about scholarship offers and I how I need to be patient and let the process play out.

"I want to try and take an unofficial visit in the summer and I've heard a lot of good things about the school and the campus. My DB coach likes Greg Brown, their DB coach a lot and has a lot of respect for him so I'm definitely going to give Colorado a hard look."

Price said he's continuing to hear from several other Pac 12 programs including UCLA, Oregon, USC and Cal and he visited San Diego State just a few weeks ago and has definite interest in the Aztecs as well.

Greg Biggins has been covering recruiting for over 15 years, covering the West since the mid-1990's and currently serves as a national analyst for Scout.com/FOXSportsNext.
